it started as a wooden fort in the 10th Century. was enlarged but then burned by the English at some point.12th or 13th century. built up a bit but suffered during the hundred years war. at one point seven towers were built around the original castle. later, two sisters made it into a habitable chateau. the ville has owned it since the 1950's and slowly done restoration. i walk around it every day.
